Top-seeded Kasatkina beat Saville from Australia in a 1 hour and 53rd-long match. They are now 3-0 in their Head2Head record in Kasatkinas favor.
As for Saville, this is her first final since 2017 in Hong Kong. This is a comeback season for her after she was sidelined by surgery on his Achilles tendon.
Kasatkina had fewer unforced errors than Saville. But the Aussie did put up a strong fight at the start of the second set. She chased down everything Kasatkina tossed at her. Eventually, things took a toll on Saville and Kasatkina prevailed.
Match Highlights:
Kasatkina is now the eighth player with multiple singles titles this year. Other players who have done the same are Iga Swiatek, Caroline Garcia, Simona Halep, Beatriz Haddad Maia, Ons Jabeur, Bernarda Pera, and Liudmila Samsonova.
Her win propels her back into the Top 10 of the world rankings. She has won a total of 37 matches this season.
Both players are next going to the US Open where Kasatkina is the 10th seed. She is set to meet Harried Dart in her first match in Flushing Queens.
Like fellow multiple title winner Samsonova, Kasatkina is Russian and will go into the last Major of the year with no country to represent.
