The Olympics tennis draw has been revealed with Wimbledon champion Ashleigh Barty to face Sara Sorribes Tormo in her debut for Australia. On the other hand, second-seeded Naomi Osaka opens with Chinese Zheng Saisai in the opening round.

This will be Osakas first match in almost two months since she retired from the French Open after taking a mental health break. Osaka represents Olympic host Japan and is one of the top players. If Osaka overcomes Zheng, she will likely face first-seeded, no. 16 Kiki Bertens next and Iga Swiatek in the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, top-ranked Novak Djokovic draws Bolivian Hugo Dellien for the opening of the men’s competition. Dellien will be Djokovic’s first hurdle in his bid to win gold at the Olympics. The world no. 1 is attempting to be the first man to complete a Golden Slam.

This year, he has already won three major tennis tournaments - the Australian Open, Roland Garros, and Wimbledon. He is now on a quest to take an Olympic singles gold medal. After which, he aims to win the US Open, which will complete a Golden Slam.

The draws for the tennis tournaments were held on Thursday, two days before the hard courts open at Ariake Tennis Park. Other matches include Andy Murray against Felix Auger Aliassime, Kei Nishikori against Andrey Rublev, Daniil Medvedev against Alexander Bublik, Stefanos Tsitsipas against Philipp Kohlschreiber.
