Panionios GSS FC is a Greek football club based in the Athenian suburb of Nea Smyrni. They currently feature in the Super League Greece.

Panionios GSS FC were established in 1890 in Smyrni Izmir, Ottoman Empire as Orpheus Music and Sports Club. Three years later in 1893 some Orpheus founded the Gymnasion Club. In 1898 Orpheus and Gymnasion merged together to form PGSS.

Panionios have played in the Greek history for most of their history, having featured outside the Greek top flight only twice. They finished second in the league in 1971 and won the Greek Cup twice, once in 1979 and again in 1998.

Panionios GSS FC play their home matches at the Panionios Stadium that can accommodate 11,700 spectators. They bear the nicknames “Blue-reds” and “Historic”.

In December 2001 the club were rechristened as Neos Panionios FC to get around bankruptcy and relegation from the Greek first division. In 2004 shipowner Constantinos Tsakiris became the president of PGSS and in 2006 garnered 85% of Neos Panionios FC stocks. Panionios almost immediately started to gain success and featured in the UEFA Cup.
