FC Khimki is a Russian football club based in Khimki. They currently feature in the Russian Premier League.
FC Khimki were established in 1996 after two amateur clubs from the city, Rodina and Novator, were merged together. Initially they played in the amateur league and played their first official match on May 17,1996.
Khimki won the competition and gained promotion to the Third League. On January 30,1997 they turned professional and after one season in the Third League regional competition gained promotion to the Second League.
FC Khimki play their home matches at the Arena-Khimki that has a capacity of 18,000 spectators.

Khimki were promoted to the First Division after the 2000 season. They settled quite well in the Russian Premier League and actually reached the final of the Russian Cup in 2005.
