Vasas SC is a Hungarian football club based in Budapest. They currently feature in the Hungarian first division and are the footballing department of one of Hungary’s major sports club.
Vasas were established as the “Sport Club of Iron and Steel Workers” on March 16,1911 and have been dominating Hungarian football since the late 1950s.
Vasas won their first Hungarian league title in 1957 and started to dominate Hungarian club football. They won the league in 1961,1962,1965 and 1966 and won the title again in 1977.
Vasas play their home matches at the Stadion Rudolf Illovszky that can accomodate 18,000 spectators.

Vasas have been less sucessful since then. They won the Hungarian Cup in 1955,1973,1981 and 1986.
