Clube de Regatas Brasil, or CRB as they are known, are a football team based out of Maceio in Alagoas. The team was founded in 1912 by a former member of Clube Alagoano de Regatas, Lafaiete Pacheco. Pacheco was unhappy with Alagoano and decided to start his own team. Brazil’s world cup winning coach, Mario Zagallo’s father was a member of the club. The team plays at the Severiano Gomes stadium, which it built on a piece of land that it bought in 1916. The stadium can hold upto 30,000 people.

The team has been crowned state champions on 25 occasions as well as Northeastern champions in 1975. Clube de Regatas came second in 1994, in the Northeast Cup. Among the greats to have turned out for the club, the names of Kazu Miura, Pinga, Gaspar and Haroldo Zagallo stand out the most.
