Shanghai Shenhua is a Chinese football club based in the city of Shanghai. They currently feature in the Chinese Super League and are owned by Zhu Jun, Shanghai SVA Group, SMEG and Huangpu Investment Ltd.

Shanghai Shenhua were established on December 10,1993 and were initially sponsored by local company Shenhua. They removed their sponsorship deal at the end of 2001 and then along came SVA and SMEG.

The club was then rechristened as Shanghai Shenhua SVA SMEG Football Club (SFC). They started winning cups and titles and in 2007 emerged victorious in the A3 Champions Cup.

In 2007 Shanghai United bought a majority share of the club and gradually merged the two clubs together. Shanghai Shenhua finished 4th in the Chinese Super League in 2007.

Shanghai Shenhua play their home matches at the Hongkou Stadium that can host 33,060 spectators. They are often simply called Shenhua.
