Shimizu S-Pulse is a Japanese football club based in Shimizu-ku, Shizuoka. They currently feature in the J League and one of the just six clubs to have played in the Japanese top flight since its inception in 1993.
Shimizu S-Pulse were established in February 1991 as Shimizu FC and two months later were rechristened as their name stands now. were one of the founding members of the J League.

Shimizu reached the final of the inaugural J League Cup in 1992 and in 1993 were one of the 10 founding members of the J League and won the J League Cup in 1996.
Shimizu won the Asian Cup Winners’ Cup in 2000 and are currently in their fifth year without a trophy after losing some Cup matches very narrowly.
Shimizu play their home matches at the Nihondaira Sports Stadum in Shimizu that can accommodate 20,339 spectators. But they have been playing at other grounds too at times in the J League as construction work is set to be held to enlarge their stadium.
