Club El Porvenir

Club El Porvenir, which translates to “the future”, is based in Villa Porvenir, in Gerli. The team stadium is Enrique De Roberts stadium, with a capacity of 14,000. Their team uniform or kit consists of black and white vertical stripes, an inspiration from Sunderland AFC, though quite similar to Newcastle United.

Since the inception of professional football, the club has not managed to gain entry into the top division of the AFA league system. In fact after the Clausura 2006, the club was relegated from the second division, even though they had a 12 place finish, amongst 20 teams. The decision was based on their low points per game average over last 3 seasons. El Porvenir had the lowest points average of 1.211 per game. The following itself the team was relegated to Primera C Metropolitana. Some of their most notable players are Oscar Mas, Gabriel Calderon, Adrian gustavo Fernandez and Manuel Seoane amongst others.
