Blaise Isetsima Nkufo is a retired Swiss soccer forward who made his mark on the sport both domestically and internationally. Born on 25 May 1975 in Zaire, he moved to Switzerland at the age of seven. Nkufo became a Swiss citizen at 20 and quickly showcased his exceptional skill, leading to a professional debut with Lausanne Sports in the 1993-94 season.
Career
Nkufo's career spanned several countries, with significant stints in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, and Qatar. He played for clubs like FC Lausanne-Sport, where he lifted the Swiss Cup in 1998, and FC Twente, where he was integral in securing the Eredivisie title during the 2009-10 season. His time at al-Arabi in Qatar also saw him win the Qatar Star League in the 1995-96 season, showcasing his versatility and ability to adapt to various playing styles.Internationally, Nkufo represented the Swiss national team, earning 34 caps and scoring 7 goals.
