Eren Derdiyok, born on 12th June 1988, is a professional football player who plays for the Switzerland National Football team. He also plays for Bayer Leverkusen as a striker, other than 1899 Hoffenheim team. He has also played for teams like Basel, Basel II and BSC Old Boys. Standing 6.3 feet tall, he has been a source of steady goals for his clubs.

Derdiyok is a strong striker who can also play as centre-back when needed. He began his career in 2005-06 season with BSC Old Boys. He made eighteen appearances and scored ten goals for the team. At an age of eighteen, Eren was taken by FC Basel in 2006-07 season. He spent total 3 seasons playing for FCB and his first ever trophy came with Swisscom Cup in April 2008. He came to limelight with the winning goal he scored for FC Basel that helped them in qualifying for UEFA Champions League.

Currently, he plays for Bayer Leverkusen. He made his debut for the club on 31st July 2009 and scored the winning goal in the same match.

Derdiyok won his first cap on 6th February 2008 in a match played against England. He shined in his debut match by scoring a goal, although his team lost the match by 2-1. He was a part of all three games Switzerland played in UEFA EURO 2008.
