Edmilson is a Brazilian international defensive midfielder who currently features for the Spanish and European giants FC Barcelona. Edmilson won the 2002 World Cup in Japan and Korea with Brazil.
Edmilson commenced his career at Brazilian giants Sao Paulo and played for them from 1994-2000. He then moved onto Europe and French giants Olympique Lyonnais for whom he starred for four years till 2004, featuring in 124 matches in all competitions.
Barcelona signed the highly rated Edmilson in 2004 but his tenure at camp Nou has been largely disappointing. Edmilson has been frequently injured and when he has broken himself free of the injury shackles, he has discerned it tough to beak into the staring line-up of a highly talented Barcelona side.
