Bernardo Daniel Romero is a striker from Argentina who plays as a professional footballer. Romero was part of the youth team structure at the Estudiantes de La Plata academy. He broke into the first team in 1995 and played for four seasons with the club, notching up over 40 appearances with only 4 goals.
In 1998, he began the first of his two-stints with San Lorenzo where he had an incredible five seasons. Initially struggling to get into the first team, Romero was soon immovable as he scored 60 goals in almost 100 games. Lethal in front of goal, he was signed by German Bundesliga side Hamburger SV, in 2002. He stayed with the team through till 2005 and scored 35 goals in almost 80 games.
In 2005, he moved to Real Mallorca in Spain but just played 10 games before shifting to Osasuna the following year. A season later, he was back in Argentina to play with San Lorenzo for the second time in his career. In his first run with San Lorenzo, Romero had won the 2001 Clausura tournament top-scorer award, a feat he will look to repeat in his renewed association.

At the International level, Romero was part of the Argentine squad that won the 1997 FIFA World Youth Championships. At the senior level, he has played only 4 games for the national side, scoring once.
