Giovanni Tedesco is an Italian football player who currently features for the Italian Serie A club Palermo. He plays as a central midfielder.

Giovanni Tedesco started his professional club football career at Reggina in 1990 and played for them for three years, scoring 6 goals in 74 league matches. Tedesco then moved onto Fiorentina and played an instrumental part in them winning the Italian Serie B title. After two seasons, he then moved on, playing for a number of clubs such as Foggia, Salernitina and then Perugia. He established himself at Perguai and became a huge player for them.

Giovanni Tedesco then signed for Genoa and there too he carried on his good displays. He stayed with the club even when they were relegated to the lower divisions due to financial crisis.

Giovanno Tedesco then moved to Palermo. His original contract was supposed to expire in the summer of 2007 but he signed a one-year contract and then at the end of the 2007-2008 season, he signed another one-year extension again.

In January 8, 2006, Tedesco played his 500th professional match, a home debut match against Lazio, which the club won 3-1, and he scored the second goal.
