John Alleu Carew s a Norwegian football player of Gambian descent who currently features for the English Premier League side Aston Villa. He is a striker and is supposed to be a world class one. He is very quick on his feet and has a very good heading ability.
John Carew commenced his club football career at Norwegian side Valerenga in 1997 and after two years moved to Norway’s biggest club Rosenborg. He scored 18 league goals in 18 league matches for Rosenborg and was signed by Valencia in the summer of 2000. He reached the UEFA Champions League final with Los Che in 2001 and won the Spanish first division title with the club in 2002.
John Carew played the 2003-2004 season on loan at Italian side AS Roma and in the summer of 2004 was sold to Turkish giants Besiktas. He played the 2004-2005 season for the Turks, scoring 13 goals in 24 league matches.

John Carew then played two seasons at French giants Olympique Lyonnias but he was hugely unsuccessful as he scored just 10 goals in 35 league appearances. In January 2007 he was signed by Aston Villa. Carew has settled well in the Premiership and has developed himself as one of the regular starts in Martin O’Neill’s highly ambitious Villa side.
John Carew made his international debut for Norway in 1998 and has gone to play 70 times for his nation, scoring 21 goals.
