Rory John Delap is a former Republic of Ireland international football player who currently features for the English Premier League club Stoke City. He plays as a midfielder.

Rory Delap started his professional club football at Carlisle United in 1994 and scored 7 goals in 65 league appearances for them until 1998.

In 1998 Derby County signed Rory Delap for 200,000 pounds and he established himself at the club, scoring 11 goals in 103 league matches.

Rory Delap then starred for Southampton between 2001 and 2006 and scored 5 goals in 132 league matches. He played for Sunderland in the 2006-2007 season but without much success and after a loan stint at Stoke City was signed on a permanent deal by Stoke in 2007.

Delap has been a regular for Stoke and is expected to play an influential part in Stoke’s season in the Premiership in 2008-2009. He made his international debut for Republic of Ireland in 1998 and played for his nation until 2004, featuring in 11 matches.
