Daniel Alves da Silva, commonly known only as Dani Alves, is a Brazil international footballer who currently features for Pumas UNAM. He plays as an attacking right back and is regarded as the best in the world in his position.
Dani Alves commenced his professional career at Brazilian side Bahia in 2001 and moved to Sevilla in 2002 initially on a six-month loan. He was quickly given a permanent deal and established himself as one of the best players in Spain.
At Sevilla Dani Alves progressed into one of the best and most entertaining right wing back in the world and joined Barcelona in the summer of 2008. He became even better at Camp Nou and won six trophies with the Catalan giants in 2009. Alves also won the Primera Division with Barca in 2010, 2011 and 2013 and the UEFA Champions League in 2009 and 2011.
In July 2022, he joined Mexican club Pumas UNAM on a free transfer after being released by Barcelona following a long association with the Catalan club.
Alves earned his first international cap for Brazil in October 2006 when he came on as a substitute against Ecuador in a friendly international. Alves has featured in more than 65 matches for his nation since then and won the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2013.
