Sevilla Step Up Price Rate For Daniel Alves

Sevilla FC president Jose Maria Del Nedo has stepped up his asking rate for the star Brazilian right back Daniel Alves.

Sevilla FC president Jose Maria Del Nedo has stepped up his asking rate for the star Brazilian right back Daniel Alves. Alves has been touted to leave the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in the summer and a host of clubs including Chelsea, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona all have been willingly throwing their names into the hat.

But Alves has been reported to have spoken to Barca last week and is stated to have agreed terms with them. Alves is said to have agreed to move to the Camp Nou at the end of the season if Barca can reach an agreement with Sevilla and this is here that the catch lies.

Catalan daily El Mundo Deportivo has reported that Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido has rejected a FC Barcelona offer for Alves and is looking forward to an improved bid on arguably the best right back in the world at the moment. The Catalan giants had been reported to have offered Sevilla 18-year old Giovanni Dos Santos—whom the great Ronaldinho has pointed out as his natural successor— and a considerable amount of cash but Del Nido says that he wants an outright 30 million euros and that will seal the deal.

Last summer Chelsea came barging into the Sevilla-Daniel Aves equation but Sevilla refused to accept the Blues’ 36 million euros that compelled Alves to sulk on for days at the Pizjuan. Alves has since recovered his form and strong mentality but he doesn’t make any attempt to eclipse the fact that he wants to move to a bigger club and stretch his footballing career to a higher level.

Talks between Barcelona and Sevilla shall of course continue but maybe, just maybe, this time Del Nido would have to hit the back foot and accept the conditions that Barcelona are laying down for him. After all, Daniel Alves wouldn’t be happy at all in Seville if he is barred from making a move in the summer.
