Erik Edman is a Swedish international football player who currently features for the English Premier League club Wigan Athletic. He plays as a left or as a right back and has earned more than 50 caps for his nation Sweden.
Erik Edman started his professional club career at Swedish powerhouse Helsingborgs in 1994 and played for them until 1999, making 61 league appearances and scoring 1 goal. He was then signed by Italian side Torino in 1999 but failed to make any league appearance in 1999-2000 and was sige dby Karlsruher SC in 2000. After a short period of time he moved to AIK Fotboll and played 21 league matches in the 2000-2001 season for them.
Erik Edman was then signed by Dutch side SC Heerenveen in 2001 and he featured in 91 league matches for them and scored 1 goal in three seasons. He played with distinction for north London side Tottenham Hotspur in 2004-2005 and scored 1 goal in 31 league matches and moved to French side Stade Rennais and played 56 league matches in three seasons for them.
