Damien Anthony Duff is a Republic of Ireland international football player who currently features for the English Premier League club Newcastle United. He plays as a winger and is known for his pace and tricks and brilliant crosses.
Damien Duff made his professional club football debut at Premiership side Blackburn Rovers in 1996 and played for them until 2003. He scored 27 league goals in 185 Premier League matches while at Blackburn.
Chelsea signed Blackburn Rovers in 2003 for 17 million pounds. His first season(2003-2004) at Chelsea was somewhat injury plagued and thereafter there was a stiff competition for places. He featured in a total of 81 Premiership matches in three years for the London Blues and scored 14 goals.
Newcastle United signed Damien Duff in the summer of 2006 for 5 million pounds on a five year contract.
Damien Duff made his international debut for the Republic of Ireland in 1998 against the Czech Republic and played at the 2002 World Cup. He has played 68 matches for his nation so far and has scored eight times.
