Marco Asensio Willemsen is a soccer player playing for Real Madrid. He is a Spanish winger and midfielder.
He was born in Palma to a Dutch mother and Spanish father, joining Real Mallorca in his youth and debuting at senior level in 2013-14.
In November 2014, Real Madrid swooped and agreed a deal in principle to sign him on a six-year deal for a transfer fee of 3.9 million euros. He was loaned back to Mallorca in 2014-15 and out to Espanyol in 2015-16, having 12 assists that term and winning the La Liga Breakthrough Player award.

He returned to Real in the 2016-17 season, netting in the UEFA Champions League final against Juventus among 10 goals that season. Asensio tore his ACL in July 2019, meaning he missed most of the season, but established himself as a regular in the following seasons, claiming numerous titles with Los Blancos.
He debuted for Spain in 2016 and was part of their squads at the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
