Jose Javier Barkero Saludes, commonly known as Barkero, is a Spanish football player who currently features for the Spanish football club Numancia. He is a midfielder.
Barkero is a graduate of the Real Sociedad youth academy and made his debut for the senior side in 1998. He played for the Basque giants until the summer of 2006 and made over 50 league appearances.
Albacete signed Barkero in the summer of 2006 and Numancia signed him from Albacete in the summer of 2008.
