Dries Mertens is a soccer player playing for Belgium and Turkish club Galatasaray.
He has had a successful career highlighted by an excellent nine-year stint in Serie A with Napoli where he played almost 400 times, scoring 148 goals and won the Coppa Italia twice and helped the side regularly qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
Mertens, who spent time with Belgian clubs Anderlecht and Gent in his youth career, previously had stints with AGOVV, Utrecht and PSV Eindhoven, the latter where he won the KNVB Cup in 2011-12.

Mertens moved from PSV to Napoli in June 2013 for 9.5 million euros. During his time in Italy, he was named in the 2016-17 Serie A Team of the Year and earned a Ballon d’Or nomination in 2017. In August 2022, he confirmed he would exit the club after a nine-year association, joining Galatasaray.
He has also represented Belgium including being part of the side that finished third at the 2018 World Cup.
