A professional French football player, Gregory Sertic plays as a midfielder who can play out on the wings as well as in an inside role. Sertic was born to Croatian parents and has the opportunity to represent either France or Croatia at the international level. Despite playing for the French Under-21 side, Sertic still has a choice when it comes to sitting down for the first team at the senior level.

An 8-year old Sertic began playing for the AS Egly Football academy in 1997. He played there for three seasons before moving onto CSF Bretigny in 2000. After three more years, Sertic spent one season at ES Viry-Chatillon before being picked up by the famed French association’s football academy at Clairefontaine. From 2003 to 2005, Sertic was a part of the INF Clairefontaine academy before FC Girondins de Bordeaux signed up him to their youth academy.

The 16-year old Sertic moved to Bordeaux and began working his way up to the first team. He made his breakthrough in 2009, moving into the first team and also making his debut for the Under-21 French national team. He played five times for the Under-21 side and in the meantime, was sent out on loan to RC Lens for the 2010-11 season. Sertic has, since, moved back to Bordeaux but remains on the side-lines considering the kind of competition he faces at the club.

Since moving to Bordeaux, he has made around 30-odd appearances for the first team, most of them as a substitute, and scored a single goal in the process.
