Jose de Oliveira Lessa Anderson is a professional Brazilian football player who plays as a striker. In 2008, Anderson finished his stint with the youth team at Clube Nautico Capibaribe, and made his name as an acute finisher with immense composure in front of goal. He scored 32 goals in the Under-20 state league championships, in just 28 games, earning his place in the first team.
Despite his scoring record, Lessa never got a chance to play for the first team at Nautico in his single season at the club. At the end of 2009, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube came in for this young dynamo’s signature and brought him into the team. Although Lessa managed to score twice in his four appearances for the first team, he was never a regular for the side.
Cruzeiro wanted Lessa to get more experience and playing time and sent him out on loan. After a short loan spell to Uniao de Leira, 2010, he signed up with Newcastle United, in England, but that loan move never came through. Instead, Lessa moved to Nautico and began his loan move with a knee ligament tear on his second start for the club.
He returned in 2011, and was sent, by Cruzeiro, on a loan spell to Vila Nova Futebol Clube. However, without playing a game, Lessa returned to Cruzeiro to recover from his injury. Eventually, he was sent out to Avai Futebol Clube on another loan spell, this time to find his footing at the highest level.
