Thiago Emiliano da Silva, commonly known simply as Thiago Silva, is a Brazilian defender who currently features for French giants Paris Saint-Germain. Thiago Silva is one of the best centre-backs in the world at the moment and also plays for the Brazil national team.
Thiago Silva began his professional career with RS Futebol in Brazil in 2003 and moved to Juventude in 2004. That same year he joined Portuguese giants Porto and in 2005 moved to Russia to play for Dynamo Moscow.
However, injuries and poor form forced Thiago Silva to return to Fluminense in 2006 where he rediscovered his form and had a successful two and a half years.

In December 2008 Thiago Silva joined Milan from Fluminense for a reported transfer fee of €10 million but was officially resigned as a Milan player from July 2009 as the Italian giants already had two none-EU players on their roster.
Thiago Silva established himself as one of the best centre-backs in European football at Milan and helped the Rossoneri win Serie A in 2010-11.
In July 2012 Milan sold Thiago Silva to PSG for €42 million where his wages are reported to be over €185,000 per week.
Thiago Silva made his debut for Brazil against Singapore in a friendly international in 2008 and played for his country at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He featured for his country at the 2010 World Cup finals.
