Mathias Abel is a German Footballer playing as a defender for 1.FC Kaiserslautern. He was born on 22 June 1981 in Kaiserslautern. Abel started his career in 2002 while joining the 1.FSV Mainz 05. He has helped the club in promoting from the second division in the second year with 18 matches.
His top flight debut was made on 14 August 2004 in 21 home victory against the team of Hamburger SV. He has appeared in several clubs from 2006 onwards. On 26th October 2010, Abel made his first appearance for first team of Kaiserslautern. He got to play 90 minutes in a league match against Borussia Monchengladbach.
