Manuel Schmiedebach is a professional German football player playing for Hannover 96. He is a Colombian-Venezuelan descent born in 1988 to a Colombian-Venezuelan mother and his father had Irish roots, whereas his grandfather was Moroccan, who played as midfielder for Hannover 96 of the German Bundesliga.
It was in 2008, when Manuel joined the amateur team of Hannover 96 II in the Regionalliga North. The following season, he made his debut under manager, Dieter Hecking, on 8th August 2009, against Hertha BSC, one of his former club from Berlin. Through unforeseen circumstances, he became one of the most significant players in Hannover's midfield as the goalkeeper and the captain of the team, Robert Enke attempted suicide. In May 2010, he extended his contract with this team till 2012.
