Sotirios Kyrgiakosimage:Sotirios Kyrgiakos |Sotirios Kyrgiakos is a Greek international football player who presently plays as a Center Back for Liverpool team. Standing six feet four inches tall, Sotirios was born in Trikala in Greece.

Sotirios has played professional football with many clubs. These include the Panathinaikos team from 1998 to 1999, the Agios Nikolaus from 1999 to 2001, Panathinaikos again from 2001 to 2005, Rangers team from 2005 to 06, Eintracht Frankfurt from 2006 to 2008 and the AEK Athinai team from 2008-09.

This oldest player in the Greece squad is however not a member of the side which were the European champions in 2004. This central defender is also a makeshift full back player and even somewhat injury prone; he earned the confidence of the many coaches. He collected more than fifty caps for Greece which includes appearances at the FIFA Confederations Cup in Germany in 2005 and UEFA Euro in 2008.

Till date, Sotirios has played with many clubs. Panathinaikos is one of such team, with which he played and received honors. This includes the Greek League and the Greek Cup in 2004. Other than this club, Sotirios also played for Rangers team. With this team, he won the Scottish Premier League and the Scottish League cup in 2005.
