Liverpool defender Sotiris Kyrgiakos has been ruled out of all footballing action for five weeks, according to latest reports.
The 30-year-old defender damaged his his anterior cruciate ligament during Greece’s World Cup qualifier with Luxembourg on Wednesday evening and left the pitch before half-time. Initially it was thought that he would be out for four months but further tests have now revealed that he is out for only five weeks.
It appears that he has not ruptured the ligaments but has only bruised them.
