Bayern Munich boss Jupp Heynckes says there’s more work for his side to do despite moving 15 points clear in the Bundesliga title race after Saturday’s 4-0 win over Schalke.
David Alaba netted a double while there were also goals from Bastian Schweinsteiger and Mario Gomez as Bayern capitalised on Borussia Dortmund 4-1 home loss to Hamburg SV to move well clear.
“The players I used have shown that they have fun and enjoy playing football,” Heynckes said. “We did well against a good defensive team and eventually had an easy time against Schalke.
“I have great pleasure working with the team. The players all have a big collective goal, which is the Bundesliga. We must continue to work hard, there are always things that you can perfect further.”
Third-placed Bayer Leverkusen also failed to win this weekend, drawing 3-3 with Borussia Monchengladbach.
