Uruguay will take on Spain on February 6, 2013 at Khalifa International Stadium. The game is scheduled to start at 1800 GMT.

Spain and Uruguay will meet to play an international friendly on Wednesday. They will meet after close to eight years as they played their last friendly in August 2005.

The two sides will go head-to-head at a neutral venue, the Khalifa International Stadium. The Qatar government paid the Spanish Football Federation about 4million US dollars to shift the venue of the friendly match from Portugal to Doha in Qatar.

The Spanish and Uruguayans played each other on five occasions. The Uruguayans have never beaten the European and world champions as three games ended as draws and two in favour of Spain.

Oscar Tabarez’s men will be staring at an uphill task as they get ready to face the mighty men from Spain.

The form of both the teams is rather contrasting as Spain enters this game in brilliant form that they have maintained for close to four years. Uruguay have not been in great form having won just one game from their last six games, losing three and drawing the other two.

A string of poor results was the highlight of 2012 for Uruguay, but they managed to bounce back to finish 2012 on a high with a 3-1 win over Poland.

Spain always shows their high quality and class no matter whom they are playing and managed to notch up 18 goals in their last six games.

Xabi Alonso, Xavi and Iker Casillas are all ruled out due to injury while Fernando Torres and Michu have been overlooked by Vicente del Bosque.

Uruguay has confirmed that Edinson Cavani, Diego Forlan and Luis Suarez are available for, hence bolstering their attack for this important.

Expected line-ups: Spain: Valdes, Arbeloa, Pique, Puyol, Alba, Fabregas, Busquets, Iniesta, Silva, Villa and Mata

Uruguay: Muslera, M Pereira, Lugano, Godin, A Pereira, Gonzalez, Arevalo, Gargano, Suarez, Forlan and Cavani
