Fernando Torres is a Spain international football player who currently features for the English and European giants Chelsea. He plays as a striker and is rated as one of the best in the world.
Torres developed at the youth academy of Spanish club Atletico Madrid and was hailed as a great potential from his teenage years. He made his first team debut in 2001 when the club was still in the Segunda Division in Spain and played for the Madrid club until 2007, establishing himself as one of the best young forwards in the game, scoring 82 goal in 214 league matches.
Liverpool signed Torres in the summer of 2007 and the Spanish forward had a phenomenal 2007-08 season. However, injuries took their toll thereafter as the striker failed to play regularly. However, Chelsea signed Torres in January 2011 for a British transfer record fee of 31 million pounds.

Torres struggled for the first six months at Stamford Bridge and continues to fail in front of goal at the start of the 2011-12 campaign. However, the Spaniard gradually grew in confidence and was crucial in the Blues’ triumph in the FA Cup and the Champions League at the end of that season.
Torres made his international debut for Spain in 2003 and has made over 100 appearances for his nation. He won Euro 2008, World Cup 2010 and Euro 2012 with La Furia Roja.
