FC Barcelona assistant boss Jordi Roura has paid respect to Valencia following the two sides 1-1 draw on Sunday and has offered no hint of panic despite their lead being cut again.
The Catalans’ lead at the summit is down to nine points after second-placed Atletico Madrid knocked off Real Betis 1-0.
Barca had to come from behind to draw at the Mestalla Stadium, with Lionel Messi’s penalty equalising Ever Banega’s 33rd minute opener.
“It’s possible we were suffering a bit from the Madrid game, but I would point out the work of our rival,” Roura told reporters.
“In five years, we have only won once here. A draw is a fair result.”
Meanwhile, Real Madrid remained 16 points behind Barca after they slumped to a dismal 1-0 loss away to Granada.
