Spain boss Vicente del Bosque says his side’s “domination of the ball” denied opponents Panama in Wednesday’s 5-1 friendly thrashing in Panama City.

The world and European champions cruised to victory over the Central Americans, with Barcelona striker Pedro grabbing a brace.

Pedro netted twice in the first half alongside David Villa to give the visitors a 3-0 lead at the break, before further second-half strikes from Sergio Ramos and debutant Susaeta.

“The balance between order and talent gave us the edge,” Del Bosque told reporters.

“We took the game seriously, with a certain level of commitment, and our domination of the ball did not allow them many chances.

“We could have scored more goals in the second half but we made it easy for ourselves.”
