One of the protracted transfer sagas of the summer appears to be heading towards a conclusion as AC Milan playmaker Andrea Pirlo is said to be on the verge of joining Premier League giants Chelsea.
Milan-based paper Il Giornale reports that Chelsea have offered Milan 20 million euros for the player and are ready to pay the Italian international deep-lying playmaker a salary of 6 million euros. The paper also reports that Pirlo shall be signed on a four-year contract.
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is a huge admirer of the former Inter Milan player and made him one of his central players during his tenure at Milan. With Ancelotti’s departure to Chelsea earlier this summer, there has been intense speculation that the Italian tactician would like to take some of the Milan players to Stamford Bridge too.
