Forbes estimates that Mbappe’s potential earnings at $128m (£115.2m) for this season. Fellow Paris St-Germain player Messi is second in line, earning $120m (£108m). Ronaldo, who still plays for Manchester United is third with $100m (£90m).
Rounding on the Top 4 and 5 are Neymar who will earn an estimated $87m (£78.4m) and Mohamed Salah who will likely take home $53m (£47.7m).
The last time there was a player other than Messi or Ronaldo to top the list was in 2013 when David Beckham held that top spot.
Mbappe had signed a lucrative deal with PSG that ended any speculations that he was looking for a trade and move to Real Madrid. The deal is for three years.
He has won 11 titles for PSG since he join on a loan from Monaco in 2017.
At the number six spot is Erling Haaland. The Norwegian is one of the Premier League players in the top 10 list along with Salah, Ronaldo, and Kevin De Brunye.
Haaland and Mbappe are the only two players who are under 30.
