“My story with Bayern is over,” said Lewandowski who still had one year with his contract with Bayern. He has now joined his teammates in Miami as part of Barcelona’s US Tour.
“I’m finally here. I’m delighted to be at Barca,” Lewandowski said.
“The last few days have been very long, but the deal is done and now I can focus on a new chapter and challenge in my life.”
“I’ve always wanted to play in La Liga and for the big clubs.”
“I’m here to help Barca get back to the top and win as many titles as possible.”
The 33-year-old striker joined Bayern back in 2014 after he left Borussia Dortmund. He was one of the most instrumental players on the team, scoring 50 goals in his 46 games for them and helping them win their 10th Bundesliga title.
Lewandowski is the fourth player to be signed by Barcelona this summer. He joins Raphinha, Franck Kessie, and Andreas Christensen. The last two arrived on free transfers while Raphinha was traded from Leeds United in a deal that was worth £55m.
Ousmane Dembele signed a contract extension with Barcelona.
Bayern also had new contracts. They signed Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus to a five-year contract. His deal was worth 77m euros (£65.6m).
