New Options
Tottenham players are very much worth targeting given their large backlog of fixtures after a raft of postponed games. Defenders Emerson Royal and Sergio Reguilon loom large. The latter had been putting together an excellent run of form with a three-game average of 8.66 points before their intermission of games.
Spurs midfielder Lucas Moura is another one to consider, posting 17 points last round at 6.5m with two assists and a goal against
Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku may have scared plenty off with his ordinary run after a bright start at Stamford Bridge but he netted last gameweek. He’s pricey but has only 9% ownership and could be a huge POD move.
Previous week lessons
Manchester City are scoring goals for fun with Raheem Sterling at the centre of that. If you’re making plans to trade out Mohamed Salah, he may be your man at 10.6m.
Sterling netted a double last gameweek, including a penalty, to total 14 points. He’s averaged 7 points per game across the past eight gameweeks and looms as the best City option.
Salah has a few more gameweeks in him before he departs for the African Cup of Nations but some coaches would’ve considered trading him out early with Liverpool’s postponed game last weekend. However, the Egyptian still has 65% ownership.
Who to captain?
Salah remains the obvious choice and he’ll be fresh after a weekend off. Liverpool make the trip to Leicester City who are never easybeats but just gave up six goals to Manchester City.
On the topic of City, their players need to be considered led by Sterling for the aforementioned reasons along with defender Joao Cancelo as they make a visit to Brentford.
Injuries
Chelsea have a raft of absentees with Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell absent due to COVID-19, while Ngolo Kante and Thiago Silva will miss with knee and thigh injuries.
Liverpool defender Andy Robertson and West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice are both out suspended too.
Popular Wolves cheap forward Hee-Chan Hwang will be out until February with a hamstring injury.
