Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to stay with Juventus ahead of the resumption of club training on Monday, according to reports.

The 36-year-old Portuguese forward had been linked with an off-season exit from Juve, with his 30m-euros-per-year contract due to expire in mid-2022.

Juventus risk losing the five-time Ballon d’Or on a free transfer next year, with the likes of Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid allegedly interested, along with a possible MLS move.

Ronaldo fueled the speculation after Juve’s disappointing 2020-21 season where their nine-year Serie A title run ended, hinting he had achieved everything he wanted in Italy.

But Sky Sports are reporting that the Old Lady will inform Ronaldo that they want him for the 2021-22 season.

Andrea Pirlo has been replaced by Massimiliano Allegri as Juve’s new head coach, reigniting hope for a Scudetto.

Pirlo struggled as Juve boss in his maiden season in charge, having only retired as a player in 2017.

Juve vice-president Pavel Nedved insisted on the weekend that Ronaldo will not be leaving this off-season, although that didn’t rule out a January switch.

Ronaldo landed back in Turin on Sunday to start pre-season after his commitments with Portugal at Euro 2020 where he was the joint Golden Boot winner.
