Italian side AS Roma have been knocked a huge blow ahead of Sunday’s Rome derby as they could miss their talisman captain Francesco Totti with a knee injury.

The former Italian international captain dropped to the ground on Friday morning at Roma’s Trigoria training ground and left the pitch shortly afterwards. Ice was applied to his knee and it is still not clear whether he shall be able to regain his fitness by Sunday.
AS Roma confront their bitter Rome rivals Lazio on Sunday in the Rome derby in the Italian Serie A. Roma have made a disastrious start to the season in Italy and coach Luciano Spaletti has come under huge criticism.
Should Francesco Totti indeed miss the match, then Roma would be in danger of losing another of their key men. There is still some doubt on the fitness of Daniele de Rossi who injured his wrist on Thursday although latest reports siggest that the Italian international midfielder would be able to feature against Lazio.
But Roma custodian goalkeeper Alexander Doni returned to the training ground; he suffereda head injury last week against Bologna. Striker Alberto Aquilani too returned to training although there is still a shawdowof doubt on his fitness.
