Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says he feels no sense of satisfaction despite the Reds pulling five points clear at the top of the English Premier League table with a 7-0 win away to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah scored doubles as Liverpool ravaged the Eagles, who were totally outclassed by the rampant Reds.

Liverpool may have been wobbly early this season, conceding plenty of goals, but they’ve stabilised in recent weeks and are now unbeaten in their past 10 Premier League matches.

With top four contenders Tottenham playing Leicester City on Sunday, Southampton going down to Manchester City and Chelsea suffering back-to-back losses, Liverpool have moved clear at the top, but Klopp isn’t satisfied with the champions’ title defence yet.

“I don’t feel satisfaction or whatever. I am happy in the moment, absolutely, because it was just a top game, but it makes no sense to be over the moon about something but the challenges don’t get smaller,” Klopp said.

“For the first time now in what feels like ages we don’t play Tuesday again. I think Crystal Palace felt today a little bit how hard it is to play Wednesday and then Saturday 12.30pm immediately again it is tough and it was tough for us as well.

“I dont think really about being top of the table or whatever, we are just happy we won the game and now we have more time to recover than we ever had before in this season.

“We have to use that in a smart way and then West Brom is waiting for us with Sam Allardyce in the next proper challenge.”

Elsewhere on Saturday, Kevin De Bruyne set up Raheem Sterling’s winner as Manchester City triumphed at Southampton to move up to sixth spot and remain in contention.

Everton jumped up to second as their good recent run continued with a 2-1 home win over struggling Arsenal who are 15th and winless in their past seven league games.

Midtable Newcastle drew 1-1 at home with struggling Fulham, who’ve drawn their past three games.
