The former Tottenham Hotspur and England international striker was impressed by Jota’s performance in Liverpool’s hammering of Atalanta in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
The defending Premier League champions eased past their Serie A hosts Atalanta 5-0 in Italy in Champions League Group D.
Jota, who joined Liverpool from Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer of 2020, started the match and scored a hat-trick.
Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane added a goal a piece, as Liverpool made it three wins out of wins in the Champions League this season, and Lineker was impressed with Jota.
