The Borrusia Dortmund forward has received a slap on the wrist for his behaviour during lockdown, which he didn’t take gracefully.
Sancho has been fined for getting a haircut in his own home, but failed to hit the required health and safety standards and has been taken to task.
Troublesome Trim
TVNZ reported that the trim, which was carried out without the use of PPE, failed to meet the protection standards required by the German league - who have been forced to take action.
However Jadon Sancho wasn’t too impressed with the sanctions as he labeled the decision an ‘absolute joke’.
Manuel Akanji received a similar treatment, although they both have five days to appeal the decision. It’s unclear whether Borussia Dortmund have spoken to the pair over the incident.
Social Conscious
This comes hot on the heels of the DFB deciding not to punish Sancho further over his decision to remove his shirt after scoring against Paderborn, wrote the Guardian, as he displayed a message in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Had he been fined for the stance he look, it would have caused a complete ruckus and this was a rare example of a governing body doing something morally correct.
Sancho has also been linked with moves back to the Premier League with Manchester United and Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp recently missed out on the signing of Timo Werner, but could he be keeping his powder dry for a mega-millions move for Sancho?
Big Season
United have to qualify for the Champions League in order to be a move the England international would be interested in, wrote the Independent, so the rest of the season is going to be vitally important for the Red Devils.
The slap on the wrist might have been annoying for Sancho, but it’s clear the German authorities are taking their anti-COVID precautions very seriously and that’s half of the battle.
