Liverpool maintained their unbeaten run in the Premier League this season with a 3-2 victory over West Ham at home.
The Reds were expected to win against the Hammers who are fighting for survival in the top flight of English football.
Entertaining Start
Jurgen Klopp’s side took the lead after just nine minutes when Georginio Wijnaldum headed home, with West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski failing to deal with it.
However, David Moyes’s team restored parity just three minutes later when Issa Diop headed in, although Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson should have kept it out.
Stunning Comeback
The London club took a surprise lead in the 54th minute through Pablo Fornals, and it appeared that the Reds would lose their first game in their Premier League this season.
However, the Reds launched a comeback and made it 2-2 midway through the second half when Mohamed Salah’s shot went through the legs of West Ham goalkeeper Fabianski.
Sadio Mane secured the points for Liverpool nine minutes from the full-time whistle when he turned the ball home after Trent Alexander-Arnold lofted it over Fabianski.
Top of the Table
The result means that the Merseyside outfit are now 22 points clear of second-placed and defending champions Manchester City at the top of the league table after 27 rounds of matches.
Overjoyed
Former Liverpool star Garcia has taken to Twitter to revel in the win, and so has club owner John W. Henry’s wife Linda Pizzuti Henry.
