Fausto Gresini was a famous 125cc rider from 1984-94. He won two world titles and had 3 second place finishes in his 10 years at Honda. So it came as no surprise that when he decided to run his own team in 1997, he went to Honda. Since then, his team has won 22 races in the MotoGP level along with a 250cc world championship title won by Daijiro Kato in 2001. The team came second twice with Sete Gibernau at the MotoGP in 2003 and in 2004.

Gresini has grown his team to have more than 30 people and has its headquarters based out of Faenza. The racing department, however, is based out of San Clemente near the Misano circuit. The racing department has an incredible facility that runs 1100 square metres and has a two-storey warehouse with a workshop and six offices. Every bike starts and ends its race or test preparation in this particular facility.
