Liam Lawson is a motorsport driver who is currently competing for Scuderia AlphaTauri in Formula One. Lawson hails from New Zealand.
Career
Lawson rose through the ranks, winning the 2016-17 NZ F1600 Championship Series as he triumphed in 14 of 15 races to show his potential.
He was runner-up in the 2017 Australian Formula 4 Championship as a teenager, followed by being runner-up in the 2018 ADAC Formula 4 Championship.

In 2019, he tried his luck in Europe, joining the Red Bull Junior Team. He also finished runner-up in the Euroformula Open Championship, before winning New Zealand’s Toyota Racing Series.
He competed in the FIA Formula 3 Championship for the first time in 2020, finishing fifth. He was ninth in the 2021 FIA Formula 2 Championship and then third in 2022.
This led to his Formula One opportunity, elevated to Red Bull reserve driver in 2022, before getting an opportunity midway through the 2023 F1 season with AlphaTauri after a wrist injury to Daniel Ricciardo who had replaced Nyck de Vries.
Lawson claimed two points with a ninth-place finish in his third F1 race, the Singapore Grand Prix in September 2023.
