Arman Tsarukyan, nicknamed “Ahalkalakets”, is an Armenian-Russian mixed martial arts fighter. He fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and in January 2023, he was listed by the UFC as their Number 8 lightweight fighter.

Arman Nairovich Tsarukyan (Ախալքալակցի) was born on October 11, 1996, in Akhalkalaki, Georgia. He and his family later moved to Russia and he fights out of Khabarovsk, Russia. He stands 170 cm tall and has a reach of 183 cm long. His weight was last listed at 70 kg and he fights in the lightweight division.

He has an orthodox stance and he is affiliated with the Lion Heart team. He has been active since 2015 and he is trained in MMA and Wrestling.

Career

Tsarukyan turned pro in 2015, winning against Shamil Olokhanov via TKO for Modern Fighting Pankration. As of February 2023, he has been in 22 fights, winning 19.

He did not join the Ultimate Fighting Championship until April 2019. Before then, his career was spent playing for Road FC and MFP. He also fought for the Gods of War MMA Championship.

His first UFC opponent was Islam Makhachev. He lost to Makhachev via unanimous decision. He followed the loss with a string of 5 wins from 2019 to 2022. He had a total of three fights in 2022. He won his February fight against Joel Alvarez, lost his June fight against Mateusz Gamrot, and won against Damir Ismagulov in December 2022.
