Francis Ngannou is a mixed martial artist from Cameroon. He is a part of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He is known as one of the hardest punchers in history.

Competing in the heavyweight division, Ngannou is listed as one of the top fighters in the UFC.

Ngannou was born Francis Zavier Ngannou on September 5, 1986, in Batie, Cameroon. He currently resides and fights out of Las Vegas, Nevada in the USA. He competes in the heavyweight division and he stands 6 feet 4 inches or 193 cm tall. His listed weight is 263 lbs. His reach is longer than his height at 211 cm.

Ngannou speaks several languages. He only learned to speak English after he joined the UFC.

Early Career and the MMA Factory

He started boxing in his 20s and eventually made it to Paris, France to train. After living homeless for a while, he started training at the MMA Factory and with Fernand Lopez.

His first few fights in Paris were under 100% Fight. After establishing a record of 5-1, Ngannou would later join the UFC.

UFC

He debuted in the UFC in December 2015. His first fight was against Luis Henrique, which he won. Other fighters he has faced include Curtis Blaydes, Bojan Mihajlovic, Anthony Hamilton, and more.

One of the highest-profile fights in his career with the UFC was with Alistair Overeem. Ngannou won that fight via a knockout. It is labeled as one of the most brutal knockouts in the history of the UFC.

UFC Heavyweight Championship

His first attempt at winning the heavyweight championship was in January 2018. He attempted but failed to win the title from Stipe Miocic. A rematch was set on March 2021, Ngannou won the title.

In January 2022, he is scheduled to bout with Ciryl Gane for the title.
