TJ Grant
TJ Grant or Timothy Jerome Grant is a professional mixed martial artist from Canada. He was born on February 26, 1984 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. His latest fight was with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, competing in the lightweight division.
Grant started training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu when he was 15 years old. This was also the time when he began to train in wrestling. He studied at Cole Harbour District High School and joined the school’s wrestling team. He became a three-time champion in wrestling and represented Nova Scotia during the Canada Games in 2001 which happened in London, Ontario. In addition, Grant also won several national competitions in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and submission wrestling. By 2007, he made his professional debut in mixed martial arts. He started with a record of 13 wins and 2 losses before signing under the UFC. In 2014, he was injured and became inactive in the said organization.
The 32-year old stands 5 feet and 10 inches and comes with a 72.5-inch reach. He comes with a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a mixed martial arts record of 26 fights with 21 wins and 5 losses. These wins include 4 by knockout, 13 by submission and 4 by decision. His latest fights were in 2013 where he won over Gray Maynard via technical knockout in the first round and Matt Wiman via knockout also in the first round. Some of his accomplishments in the sport include a two-time Knockout of the Night and a one-time Fight of the Night under the UFC.
